Square Foot Gardening for Money?

My Husband and I are nearing retirement age.  Most of our married life I have stayed at home, raised a family, homeschooled and did what I could to help my husband in our own business.  I have always wanted to be an at home mom with time available for serving others.  So I have been content to do just that and to leave the brunt of the burden of making a living up to my husband.  But this year, my husband has had health problems.  He is no longer able to put in the 40 to 60 hours a week it take for hime to do what he does.  He is cutting back which is a good thing but it has left me wondering what I can do to take more of the financial burden off of his shoulders.

Yes, I have had the title of administrative assistant to the president of our corporation for more than 20 years.  And yes, I could apply for a similar position somewhere else.  But I have always been able to come and go as I pleased and I am really not fit for a regular desk job.  I would be miserable trying to keep some other top executive happy and always having to stay on my toes.

So I spent some depressing days soul searching and asking myself and the Lord, "Who am I" and "What can I do?"  Surely there is some other way to make a living.  I guess the question came around to what do I do well, do I have a gift that I could expand into something I could both enjoy and gain financially from?

What I landed on was gardening.  Well, actually urban farming.  I enjoy growing food.  I have tried many methods and had great success with them all but I have had the best success with Square Foot gardening.  It way less work and very rewarding.

This is a chronicle of my adventures.
